G-SHOCK and Baby-G have been supporting the efforts of the international Dolphin and Whale Conference and promoting its theme of "All as one" since the 4th conference in 1994. This tradition continues into the new millennium with the introduction of new offical G-SHOCK and Baby-G models for the Dolphin & Whale Eco-Research Network. The purpose of these new models is to promote deeper understanding among humans of the life and ecology of dolphins and whales, and to support consideration of new lifestyles that are more compatible with the global environment. The G-SHOCK versions of these new models feature the ecologically freidnly Tough Solar power system that was originally introduced with the G-SHOCK FROGMAN. Both the G-SHCOK and the Baby-G models feature 200-meter water resistance that meets ISO standards for a diving watch, World Time preset for major diving sites around the world, and other functions to support divers who love and respect the ocean. The new models are colored in deep blue in the image of the ocean habitat of dolphins and whales. the band of the Baby-G models features the image of dolphins frolicking in the water. Bands are also imprinted with the message "ALL AS ONE" and "Dolphin & Whale Eco-Research Network," while the back cover of the watch sports the logo of the International Cetacean Education Research Center (I.C.E.R.C). As with previous model, packages are made of environmentally friendly paper that is made from 100% recycled milk carton paper. these models also come with a booklet that promotes closer connection between dolphins, whale, humans, and nature in general.
Dolphin & Whale Eco-research Network Project
Starting with the inaugural meeting in Australia in 1988, ICERC Japan has been actively sponsoring the international Dolphin and Whale Conference is various locales around the world..The Eco-Research Network project takes advantage of the network created by the international dolphin and Whale Conference to provide centralized support of activities by international groups and individuals, which is aimed at researching dolphins and whales from an ecological perspective. Part of the sales of these G-SHOCK and Baby-G models is earmarked a contributions to the Eco-Research Network project, in hopes that it will help to protect and improve the global environment that is home to dolphins, whales humans, and other life forms.
